We learned about drug action on the eyes recently.
I'd tell you about it, but it will probably bore you so, I'll tell you about the bunch of stuff I stumbled upon on the internet while filling my pharmacology practical manual.*taps microphone*
According to different sources on the internet, <that you'd discover if you searched, "do your pupils dilate if you look at someone you love"> YOUR PUPILS DILATE WHEN YOU LOOK AT SOMEONE YOU LOVE.
I hardly saw any tangible evidence of the claim and there was only one research paper, published almost ten years ago that partially supports the claim <according to that study, your pupils dilate when you look at a person that you are physically attracted to, but I'm a romantic and that's not good enough for me so I'm pretending that I did not see that> BUT this is my blog and I can write anything I want and so today I am putting it to you that your pupils dilate when you look at a person that you have affection for.
*wears professor spectacles*
Now the real question is why? Why does this happen? I don't know! Nobody knows!
However, do not be dismayed. I have carefully worked out a few theories for the reasons why your pupil diameter increases a little when you look at someone you lurveee.
<oh stawp clapping and shouting my name, I just do my best to contribute to society *blushes.>
A furum gi n'anya is Igbo for I love you. The very literal translation is 'I see you in my eyes" and I think my ancestors ate with coining the term like that. What if our pupils dilate when we look at people we love because to love someone is to really see them and open up a little more to accommodate the fullness of their being <double entendre btw, you get it? Accommodate? Hahaha>.
Interlude.
I saw too many rom-coms and romantic classics last Christmas and someone sent me a funny "love in the air" mixtape that I've been listening to. They are the reasons why my theories are like this.

I, I could finally see in colour. I'm in love again —Fousheé.
Someone said there really isn't anything like love, it's all just your brain chemicals acting up. Maybe that's what happens when your pupils dilate after you've seen someone you have affection for. Maybe some people are so intriguing, they cause a glitch in your brain and your brain chemicals go wonky for a bit.

I used to really like someone that I couldn't look in the eye one time. They thought it was a sign of dishonesty, you know, the way you can't make eye contact when you are telling a lie? But I just always couldn't look them in the eye and hold my gaze for more than a few seconds without my eyes getting teary. I recently found out that it happens to a other people too???? That looking at people they liked was like staring directly at a light bulb???
The eyes are such interesting things. I shall do a little more research and share my findings with you soon. Stay tuneeeed my lovelies.

Happy New Year!
This is my first post in such a long time and I am too ashamed to apologise because I can't promise that I won't run off again. I had fun writing this.
I don't care if you agree with me or not. I said what I said because it is my blog and I can say<write, really> whatever I want *inserts manic villain laughter*
I am super curious though, which of my theories do you feel inclined towards agreeing with though? Tell me in the commentsssss.
Okay thanks bye!
Interlude.
Pupil

Dilate

The eye doctor put drops in my eye to dilate the pupil so he could see the nerve better.

The eyes are the windows to the soul- source unconfirmed.
What if the dilation is really just your soul widening the curtains to take the view all in? Because how can this person look as other worldly as they do?

you are the bane of my existence, the object of all my desires— Handsome Bridgerton man.
There is a part of the nervous system called the autonomic nervous system. It involves all the neural razzle dazzle that is beyond your control, things like your heart beat, movement of food down your gut, changing the shape of your pupil etc etc.
<I'm not about to give you a medical lecture dw but I'm heading somewhere, stay with me *inserts chuckling emoji>
There is this part of the autonomic nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system. Its job is to put the body in "Flight or fight" mode once you encounter potential danger. When this system kicks in, it's like your body's superhero getting ready for action. Your heart beats faster, your breathing speeds up, and your muscles get ready to run or face the challenge and most importantly, your pupils dilate!
Now what if your pupils dilate when look at someone you like because just then, your Chi senses serious impending danger?
It sees how much power this person could wield over you, how you already dropped your heart in the middle of their palm, how they could pierce it through with their fingers if they so wished, and so it tries to activate your sympathetic nervous system, but their powers in the physical world are just enough to only increase your breathing, your heart rate and the diameter of your pupil but not enough to charge your muscles to run away from them?
Think about it a bit.
